Terms of use

You must be 18 or older. There is no version of this site for anyone younger, and an account we believe belongs to a minor is removed without notice.

One account per person. Don’t make an account for someone else, and don’t use one that isn’t yours.

Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@anterosagora.com if you think someone else has got into it.

What you say about yourself should be true. Pretending to be a different person, or a person who doesn’t exist, is the one thing that makes everything else here unsafe.

You keep ownership of your photos, your words and anything else you put on your profile. You give us permission to store them and show them to other people using the site — that is the entire point of posting them, and the permission ends when you delete them or delete your account.

Don’t post anything that:

• isn’t yours to post, including other people’s photos;
• shows someone who hasn’t agreed to appear on a dating site;
• is sexual content, an advertisement, a solicitation, or a link to either;
• attacks people for who they are — race, religion, disability, gender, sexuality, or anything else of that kind;
• is a scam, a chain message, or an attempt to move people to another platform to be scammed;
• is illegal.

When you add an interest that nobody has used before, it becomes a suggestion offered to everyone else. An interest is published to the whole site, not just to your profile. Interests that break the rules above are screened automatically where that is possible, and removed by a person when it isn’t.

If an interest is removed it comes off every profile that listed it, including yours. That is not a judgement about you — most people who listed it meant nothing by it.

The site is free to use. Anteros Plus is an optional subscription that removes the limit on how many people you can express interest in. It changes nothing else: no profile is hidden behind it, and nobody is ranked higher for paying.

It renews automatically. $9.99 a month, charged to your card each month until you cancel. The checkout page shows the total before you pay. We will tell you by email, before the charge, if the price ever changes.

You can cancel at any time from settings, in a couple of clicks, without writing to anyone. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep the subscription until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then go back to the free limit.

Payments are taken by Stripe on our behalf. We never receive or store your card details. Charges already taken are not refunded for time you did not use, except where the law requires it or where something on our side went wrong — write to us and we will sort it out.

If a payment fails we will keep the subscription running briefly while the card is retried, and tell you. If it keeps failing the subscription ends and the free limit applies again.

Don’t harass, threaten, impersonate or stalk anyone. Don’t keep contacting someone who has stopped replying. Don’t share private messages, photos or anything else from someone’s profile outside the site without their agreement.

Don’t use the site to sell anything, to recruit, to collect people’s details, or to run software that reads the site automatically.

Reports are read by a person. We may remove content, suspend an account, or close one permanently, with or without warning, where we think the rules have been broken or somebody is at risk. We don’t owe an explanation of a moderation decision, and the notes behind one are not shared — publishing them would tell a suspended person exactly who reported them.

If you think a decision was wrong, write to support@anterosagora.com and a person will look again.

We don’t run background checks or criminal record checks on anyone here, and we don’t verify that people are who they say they are. Nothing on this site is a statement by us that a person is safe, honest or single.

Meeting people from the internet carries risk that we can’t remove. Meet in public the first time, tell someone where you’re going, and make your own way there and back.

The site is provided as it is. We don’t promise it will always be available, that nothing will ever be lost, or that it will be free of faults. We may change or stop any part of it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us, or one hundred US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You can delete your account at any time in settings. It goes immediately and takes your profile, photos, messages and matches with it.

We may end your access if you break these terms. The sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, liability, and governing law — do.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll say so on the site or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top is when this one was last changed.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we both agree to those courts.
